Volume 1, Issue 1 - April 2006
Welcome to the first issue of our bi-monthly client newsletter. It's a new way for us to stay in touch with our clients, and pass on news and
information we think you'll find interesting. The content will be a mixed bag, with articles about the consulting business, or just about the ways that technology affects our lives. We'll feature some plain old InSys news, too, when
appropriate.
It's a double opt-in subscription, which you can cancel at any time. And you can be sure we respect your right to be protected against unsolicited email or phone calls -- we'll never share the InSys Views subscription
list with anyone.
Don't be afraid to let us know about topics of interest. If there's something you think we should cover, just send a note to info@insysus.com.
We hope you enjoy the issues to come. Thanks for reading!

2006 InSys Client Satisfaction Survey
Last Spring, we moved our annual client survey to the web, with the help of Survey
Monkey. It was a big improvement over our old paper-based approach, and let us gather good information about how we were aligned with our clients' needs. We used the results to set goals, plan for improvements and establish a benchmark for
the future. So we're doing it again!
The 2006 survey will be open for comments on May 3, and if you get an invitation to participate, we hope you will. Your time will be rewarded with a cool InSys T-Shirt and you'll be entered in a
random drawing for an even better prize.
Stay tuned...
Cost Cutting is No Longer Enough
According to CIO Magazine, IT managers who focus on cutting costs risk working themselves right out their jobs. The
recommendation is to look for ways to create value in IT by connecting it to revenue generation. Read the article.
Mobile Browsing? Really?
Although it seems hard to believe, mobile phones are expected to challenge the PC's dominance as a Web browsing tool. In many parts of the world, mobile phones are already the most common way to connect
to the Web, and Insight's "Face of the Web" study expects the trend to continue. That means more browser wars ahead. Read the article.
Oracle and Open Source
Oracle is considering a move into open source software, either by launching its own version of Linux, or buying one of the players in the open source space. That would greatly change the landscape, letting
Oracle sell a full suite of products from the OS up, the way Microsoft does now. Read the article.
And now for something completely different...
Technology is all well and good, of course, but you have to know when to kick back and do something else, too. Like cooking! Some of you may already know about Linda's Top-Secret
White Binder Cookbook. If you don't, you can take a look here. Try the recipe called "Sin" -- It's a dessert that's quick, easy and impressive. What more could anyone ask?
