Volume 3, Issue 8 - August 2008
Greetings, folks -
I've been following the Olympics closely for the last week or so. And that naturally leads to thoughts of individual
accomplishment, as well as the importance of teamwork. A little corny, I suppose, but it's worth noting that you can have both. Think about Michael Phelps, swimming in solo events as well as with the US team, and breaking all those records
in the process. Amazing performance.
Andrew Carnegie said teamwork is the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives, He called it "the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon
results." The truth is people love being part of a successful team. It's more fun doing things that way than doing them alone. Hey, we're social animals!
And even though the Summer Olympics are still in full swing, I'm looking
ahead to the skating season, when my own figure-skating team will be in competition once more. Are there any adult figure skaters out there? We're always looking for new recruits. Drop me a note, and I'll tell you all about it.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, everybody!

Stroll 'N Roll 2008
Next month InSys Controller, Jodi Edelson, plans to participate in the 7th Annual Stroll 'N Roll in Verona Park, New Jersey. It's a 5k walk, run or stroll through the park, sponsored by the Henry H. Kessler
Foundation. All proceeds benefit community programs and rehabilitation research related to spinal cord and brain injuries, as well as stroke, MS and other life-altering conditions.
"This will be my forth year doing the Stroll
'N Roll. I love it. You see children of all ages having so much fun - some on special bikes, racing through the park. I have a close friend whose son is paralyzed, so it's an event that's very close to my heart."
If you're
interested in joining Jodi in the fun, there's plenty of time to register. Visit the Kessler Foundation event page for more info.
