Summer greetings…

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a New York State MWBE event in Albany. It was a half-day session designed to give minority- and women-owned technology solution providers a chance to connect with some of the major players currently serving various New York State agencies.

I've attended events like this before, many times. But this one was the best ever! It was considered a "jump start" for a program that will dedicate 20% of every state contract to a WBE or MBE by 2010.  This will happen incrementally over the next few years, but that's quite a goal. And from the buzz around the room, they're going to make it happen. Governor Paterson even made an impromptu visit to say a few words.

If you'd been there, you'd have seen me and the InSys sales team walking around in chef jackets, handing out recipe cards – excerpts from my Top Secret White Binder Cookbook. We wanted to be remembered, and also have some fun, so we played up the idea that we had "the recipe for your success."  We were a smash! Who says business can't be fun?

Have a great summer…

Be Mindful of IT Workers' Age Groups

Meet the New Kids on the Block

This Spring, InSys added two new Account Executives to the sales team - Anthony Fioto and Tami Crupi. Both are seasoned sales professionals with many years' experience in managing accounts and delivering technology resources and services.

Anthony has a 20-year background in sales and sales management, which he's been doing since earning his BA from the University of Rhode Island. His most recent work was in  delivering loyalty program platforms in the Financial Services industry, where he learned the ropes of complex sales and end-to-end solutions. When not busy visiting clients, he's out on the links or playing with his two daughters. If he invites you for a game, be careful - he's a scratch golfer!

Tami is coming out of semi-retirement, after spending time at home raising two sons. With more than 15 years in the IT staffing marketplace, she's excited about meeting InSys clients and helping to grow our client base. Tami's worked in many industries, but primarily in Pharmaceuticals. Her energy and dynamic personality will fit in nicely with the rest of the gang.
